The Lost and Forgotten Tree Squares of NYC
The city is full of these neglected and littered tree squares- which is the dirt surrounding the tree. Tree squares are also called tree pits.
Tree squares come in all shapes and sizes. They are not always square, and don't always have trees. Some are located in the sidewalk and some are located all the bike lanes. But they all have dirt!
After seeing many tree squares filled with garbage, David decides to take matters into his own hands.
To transform the trash squares into gardens, first you must:
Remove the trash
Break up the compacted soil
Add in good soil to help the plants grow
